The University Network on Renewable Energy-Africa (UNETAFRICA) brings together renewable energy researchers from universities in Ethiopia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, and Norway. The network is a result of more than a decade long research collaboration among the partner institutions and the University of Science and Technology in Norway, in the field of renewable energy. Previous and ongoing projects supports joint research activities in renewable energy, capacity building at PhD and MSc levels, sharing of resources e.g. laboratory facilities and joint courses. Staff exchange and mobility of students have also been important aims for the group of universities.
UNETAFRICA will take this collaboration further and serve as an umbrella for an extended participation with more universities.
